Today she is out of town for work. I removed my Revlon 161 Teak Rose (reviewed here) yesterday night and could not bare to look at my bare hands for another moment so decided to give my non-manicured (is that a word ?) a face-lift!
So here goes....
The products that I used included Sally Hansen Maximum Growth plus Base+Top Coat. My mum got it from the states where it is available for around $9. I believe you may get it in India for around INR400/- approximately. I also used VOV Power Lasting Nail Color. I don't remember the exact price of the VOV but I guess it was somewhere between INR15-25/-. All I remember is that I picked this one up along with a few others from a basket at the local retailers. (I guess 8 assorted bottles of varied brands and sizes cost me INR150/-)
Sally Hansen is in No 02 and VOV does not have a name to it, but this bottle says C/941 on it-which I am presuming is the code for this number.
Sally Hansen comes with Vitamins A, C, and E and also contains Soy Proteins as per the claims of the company. I'll have to use it a couple of more times-to verify these claims.
First I applied the Sally Hansen as base coat-oh! and I have to mention that I love the plastic applicator tip of the Sally Hansen. It isn't very thick and since its plastic like its very easy to work with. So the sally hansen dried up quite quickly (I gave it 10 mins though ;) ).
Next, I applied the VOV Power Lasting and I just applied a single coat of it because I loved the outcome in a single coat. After about another 6-7 mins I applied the Sally Hansen as top coat.
I must admit that my nails dried up quite quickly and I was not expecting that with 3 coats of 2 different products they would be done so soon! Did you know that VOV is a Korean Brand which started out in 1998 and the company targets 20-25 year olds in particular? Hmmm.... I''ve crossed that age now, but whatever!
The color is quite sheer and for a more mettalic effect you may go in for 2-3 coats. The color has sheen to it and I wouldn't say sparkles because that's not how it is (sparkles somehow would have made it tacky). This is a very elegant, sophisticated shiny baby pink which one may wear to almost all occasions. In a single coat it comes out to be what the phrase 'my nails but better' would mean. It will streak however and you have to be extra careful while applying it-but I overcame the fine lines and streaks by applying a top coat.
Overall, I think its the best, most romantic color on my nails. If I were in-charge of media-I would have all my models wearing this color on their nails. LOL. No really-its super natural and super elegant. Also, I cant take my eyes off my nails!
Correct me if I'm exaggerating and let me know what you think!
Till next time, take care
